Optical Disc Drive Installation – $15
Description: Physical installation of an optical disc drive into a desktop or laptop, including mounting, setting jumpers, and connecting the optical disc drive. Any software provided with the optical disc drive will also be installed. Models requiring disassembly of a laptop in order to install the new optical disc drive may have an additional installation cost.
Hard Disk Drive Installation – $10
Description: Physical installation of a hard disk drive into a desktop or laptop, including mounting, setting jumpers, and connecting the hard disk drive. Does not include operating system installation.
Desktop Motherboard Installation – $35
Description: Physical installation of a motherboard in to a compatible case, including mounting, and connecting all wires and cables. Removing the original motherboard is also covered in the installation. The operating system must typically be reinstalled when changing the motherboard in a desktop. Price does not include operating system installation.
Laptop Motherboard Installation – $45
Description: Complete disassembly of the laptop and removal of the original motherboard, and installation of the new motherboard. Reinstalling the operating system is typically not necessary when changing the motherboard in a laptop.
Operating System Installation and System Setup – $65
Description: The hard disk drive will be formatted and the original information removed from the hard disk drive. Any data to be saved will be backed up at this point. The original operating system for the product key provided will be installed on the computer. After the operating system has been installed, device drivers will be installed, all service packs and updates will be installed, and general software for using the computer will be installed (disc copying software, word processor, free anti-virus, web browser, DVD playback software). If any data was backed up from the hard disk drive before formatting, it is loaded back to the hard disk drive last.
RAM Installation – $5
Description: Installation of up to four memory modules in one computer and confirmation that all memory modules are being read in the system BIOS. Laptops with memory slots under the keyboard or requiring disassembly of the laptop, and some small form factor desktops, may have an additional installation costs.
Case Fan Installation – $10
Description: Installation of a case fan using standard mounting screws in a desktop computer and connection to a power source. This does not apply to laptop CPU fans.
CMOS Battery – $5
Description: Installation of a CMOS battery and confirmation in the system BIOS that the computer is keeping the time and date after being remove from a power source.
Power Supply Installation – $10
Description: Installation of a power supply into a desktop computer. All internal components requiring power will be reconnected to the new power supply.
Laptop LCD Screen Installation – $35
Description: Removal of the original LCD screen from the laptop and installation of the new LCD screen. The new screen will be reconnected to the motherboard and inverter. After installation the laptop will be booted to the BIOS to confirm the screen is working properly.
Expansion Card Installation – $15
Description: Installation of an expansion card in a laptop or a desktop, any required device drivers or software will also be installed. Types of expansion cards can include, PCI cards, USB devices, video cards, sound cards, wireless cards, dial-up modems, etc.
Software Installation – $10
Description: Installation of provided software on one computer. The computer will be activated if needed, if registration is required, customer will need to register software or provide registration information. Does not apply to operating systems.
Media Card Reader Installation – $10
Description: Installation of a media card reader in a desktop with compatible plug in. Some desktops may not have a an available slot for a standard media card reader.
Attach Connector to Bulk Cable – $2.50 (per connector)
Description: Attach one connector to the end of a CAT5e, CAT5, CAT6, CAT3, coaxial, ethernet, or phone cable.
Virus and Spyware Removal – $50
Description: Removal of all malware from one computer, including: viruses, spyware, trojans, worms, rootkits, and other malicious files and software. Generally four to five scans are required to removal all malicious software. Once malicious software is removed, there is no guarantee that they will not come back on the computer using the same method as before or a different method. If an anti-virus software is installed, it will be set to automatically download and install definition updates, if the anti-virus software is expired, a free anti-virus will be installed in place or another paid anti-virus if requested by the customer.
